Now let me say something about Beijing Opera. Beijing Opera is very popular in China. It has a history of more than 200 years. During the reign of the Qianlong emperor in the Qing dynasty, Qianlong had a interest in the local opera. In 1790, to celebrate his eightieth birthday, he summoned opera troupes from different places to perform for him in Beijing. Four famous troupes from Anhui province remained in Beijing after the celebration. In 1828, A Hubei troupe came to Beijing and often performed together with the Anhui troupes. On the afternoon of November 18, we had the opening ceremony of the Fourth Dongzhou Middle School Sports Festival. Each class gave a wonderful performance. The next day, we had an exciting sports meeting. Many players were in it. All the others just watched them. Some were busy writing articles about it. I remember my brother as a sweet baby, bringing much fun and delight to the family with his pleasant gabbles of nonsense. On Monday I usually get up at ten past six in the morning. And then I brush my teeth and wash my face. I have a quick breakfast at around twenty-five past six. And at about twenty to seven I leave home for school. I usually go to school by bus. And the bus ride usually takes about half an hour. I arrive at school at around ten past seven.
I have seven classes every day. Four of them are in the morning. And three of them are in the afternoon. I always have lunch at school at about twelve o'clock.
All my classes finish at around five o'clock p.m. And at around six o'clock I get home. I eat supper at about ten to seven p.m. And then I do my homework. At around fifteen past ten in the evening, I do some washing. And I go to sleep at around half past ten at night.

It is nothing new that many students go to take after-school classes now, but in my opinion, it’s just a waste of time and money. When I was in primary school, my parents sent me to different kinds of these classes, too. But later I realized I didn’t want to do that anymore.
