农村英语教学面临着很多困难和挑战。农村孩子学习英语主要存在以下几个方面的问题：

3.聋哑英语现象普遍存在。所谓"聋哑"英语，就是大多数孩子学了英语既不能开口与人交流，也听不懂别人说什么。听说能力严重不足，只是一味地练习做题应对考试，出现了一些英语成绩还行，交流沟通不足的"高分低能"现象。当然这也和应试教育的制度有关，也是没有办法的事情。
4.英语学习的氛围不浓。学生没有太多的机会和舞台去学以致用。语言的基本功能就是沟通和交流，没有这方面的能力，学习语言就很难有用武之地和发挥它的最大优势，也不能激发学生的学习兴趣。
