学院有两种翻译1.faculty.eg:Faculty of Engineering, National University of Singapore.新加坡国立大学,工程学院2.school这样比较少一些.eg:Harvard Law School哈佛法学院系办:department. eg:English Department, Sichuan International Studies University.四川外语学院,英语系college大学/大专school多指小学,初中,高中: primary school, middle school, high school/secondary schoolinstitute多指科研机构.research institute

我们学校的外国语学院是College of Foreign Studies.意思是外国语学院不仅仅学习语言，也学外国的文化历史经济等等一般的外国语学院是College of Foreign Languages/Foreign Languages Institute/Foreign Languages Department不同的大学叫法也可能不一样

1、都可以，主要是学校历史原因有关。University和College并不能详尽定义所有美国高等教育的形式。其它的常用的代表大学的名称还包括：Institute，比如 Massachusetts Institute of Technology(麻省理工大学)，California Institute of Technology(加州理工大学)等。

2、School,如Juilliard School(美国顶音乐舞蹈学院)；Conservatory,泛指音乐类学院，比如Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University（美国约翰霍普金斯大学琵琶第音乐院）等等。这些称呼也和该些学校的历史原因有关。

4、institute【ˈɪnstɪtju:t】：学院、协会、学会、教育、专业等 机构。造句：irectly in front of the institute is Kelly Ingram Park.

5、university【ə'kædəmɪ】：大学；综合性大学；大学校舍。造句He teaches Esperanto at that university.

6、school 【skuːl】：学校；学院；学派。造句：He gave his books to the school.
