五一劳动节：是世界上80多个国家的全国性节日。定在每年的五月一日。它是全世界劳动人民共同拥有的节日。

五一劳动节的官方名称是五一国际劳动节，中华人民共和国成立后，于1949年12月作出决定，将5月1日确定为劳动节。

1989年后，国务院基本上每5年表彰一次全国劳动模范和先进工作者，每次表彰3000人左右。

中国人民邮政曾多次发行邮票纪念这一节日。1952年5月1日，国际劳动节63周年之际，我国发行“纪15《国际劳动节》”纪念邮票，全套3枚，面值均为旧人民币800元。这是新中国成立后，发行的第一套纪念“五一”国际劳动节的专题邮票。
