编者按：《Alice in Wonderland》是一个带翻译的英语寓言故事，讲述的是主人公爱丽丝的房子变了模样，她自己也因为吃蛋糕而变得更小了。

After Alice frightened everyone by growing as big as a house, she ate some little cakes and shrank again.She doesn't like being so tiny, so she's looking for something to make her grow to the right size. But this is Wonderland and what she finds,sitting on top of a mushroom, is very curious indeed…

Alice变得跟房子一样大的时候吓坏了不少人，然后她又吃了一些小蛋糕重新缩小回去。她不喜欢自己变得很小，所以她正在找能帮助她变成正常大小的东西。但是这是在奇幻仙境，她发现一个奇怪的东西坐在蘑菇顶上…

Alice

Am I as small as a mushroom, or is the mushroom as tall as me? Ohh!!

天啊!我现在是变得跟蘑菇一样小了?还是蘑菇变得跟我一样大了?

Sitting on top of the mushroom was ablue caterpillar smoking a hookah pipe.

蘑菇顶上坐着的是一只蓝色的毛毛虫，正在叼着水烟袋。

Who are you?

你是谁?

Alice

I… I'm not sure. I know who I was when I woke up this morning. But I've changed so many times since then!

我…我也不知道，早上起床的时候我还知道我是谁，但是后来变来变去那么多次，我也不知道我究竟是谁了!

毛毛虫

What do you mean by that? Explain yourself!

你什么意思?说来听听!

Alice

I can't explain myself because I'mnot myself. It's very confusing… I think you should tell me who YOU are first.

毛毛虫

Why?

为什么?

Alice

Ummm…

Alice couldn't think of any good reason. She decided to leave.

I have, sir. I don't stay the same size for more than ten minutes!

What size do you want to be?

Alice

Oh, I don't mind. A little bit bigger is all I would like. Seven centimetres is such a terrible height!

It is a very good height! I myself am exactly seven centimetres in height!

And with that, the caterpillar crawled off the mushroom and away.

One side of the mushroom will make you grow taller. The other side will make you grow shorter. Seven centimetres indeed!

一边的蘑菇能让你长高，另一边的蘑菇会让你变矮。

Alice

Hmmm… let me pull this side… and now this side…But which side is which?

嗯…这边…那边…到底哪边是哪边呢?

There was only one way to find outthe answer to that question. Alice took a bite of one piece of the mushroom -and shrank so quickly that she hit her chin on her foot.

有一个办法能帮助她找到正确答案，Alice尝了这边的一小片蘑菇，然后迅速地缩小了，下巴都打到了脚面上。

Alice

Ouch!

Quickly, she ate some of the other piece of mushroom and …

Alice grew and grew until her neck was as long as a snake. Up and up she grew, through the branches and leaves, untilher head was higher than the trees. Alice found she could move her neck just like a snake, bending this way and that. She was about to use her long neck to push her head down into the trees and look for her shoulders and hands,when suddenly a furious bird flew at her.

Alice慢慢地长大，她的脖子也越来越长，她的头穿过树枝和树叶，直到比树还高。Alice发现自己可以像一条蛇一样弯来弯去，在她准备将头移到地下的时候，一只愤怒的小鸟朝她冲了过来。

The bird settled angrily into its nest. Alice ate a little of one side of the mushroom, then a little of the other, then a little of the first again until she was a good size. She decided to find her way back to the door to the beautiful garden that she saw when she first arrived in Wonderland. As she walked through the forest she found a little clearing, with a small house in it, not much more than a metre or so high.

那只小鸟生气地回到了自己的窝里。Alice吃了这边的一小块蘑菇，变小了一点，又吃了另一边一点，吃了好几次之后，终于将身体变回了原来的大小。她决定回到最初刚进入奇幻仙境的地方，也就是花园的门那里。穿越森林时，她发现了一片空地，里面有个小房子，也就一米高左右。

Alice

I wonder who lives here? The house is so small – anyone who lives here will surely be afraid of me!

我想知道是谁住在这儿呀?这房子太小了，我肯定会吓到里面的住客的!

Alice ate a little more of the mushroom and quickly brought herself down to the right size for this little house. Next time, Alice meets a walking fish, talks to a smiling cat and has to look after a baby. Goodbye.

Alice吃了很多蘑菇，很快把自己的身体缩小到适合这个小房子的尺寸。下一集，Alice会遇到一条会走路的鱼，将和一只会微笑的猫说话，而且还不得不照顾孩子。再见!

In this fantasy world, it seems that only Alice is the only sober person, she constantly adventure, while constantly asking "who I am" in the adventure at the same time continue to understand themselves,continue to grow, and finally grow into a "big" Girl.

But she wants to grow bigger so that she can reach the key thatwill unlock the tiny door to a beautiful garden. After eating some cake she found in a little glass box, Alice started to feel something …

大家好!Alice正在兔子洞底经历一场奇幻怪异的旅程。她喝了一种能让她变小的饮料，但是现在为了拿到钥匙进入花园，她又想重新变大。在吃完玻璃盒子里的小蛋糕以后，她开始有了一些异样的感觉。

Curiouser and curiouser! I'm growing! My feet are so far away. Goodbye feet! How will I put my shoes and socks on, I wonder? Ouch!

Alice grew so big that her head hit the ceiling! It was easy to reach the table now. She picked up the tiny key and rushed to the door. But in her excitement, she forgot something again…

Alice长得很大，头都顶到了天花板，现在她能轻而易举地够到钥匙了，她拿到钥匙向门跑去，但是她兴奋过头了，忘记了一件重要的事…

Ohhhh… this is hopeless! I'm much too big for this door now! I'll never get into the garden! I can only look through the door with one eye! Oh…

Alice was over nine feet tall, and when a girl that big cries, the tears are big too. Alice cried and cried until half the hall was filled with a salty pool of tears. After a time, Alice heard a little pattering of feet in the distance. She dried her eyes to see what was coming.

Alice现在长到已经九英尺高了，她急得大哭了起来，硕大的泪滴也扑扑地落下来，形成了一片咸水滩。过了一会儿，Alice听到远处有脚步声，她擦干了眼泪看看是谁走了过来。

White Rabbit

Oh! I'm late! I'm so very late! I was told to be early and I'm going to be late. The Duchess will be waiting. Oh my! Ohmy! She will be so very angry with me! Oh my!

The sight of The White Rabbit, splendidly dressed in his best clothes, and carrying a large fan and a pair of white leather gloves was enough to stop Alice's tears.

Alice fanned herself while she talked. Shefelt much cooler. But after a minute or two, something started happening.

Then something kept happening. Alice kept fanning herself.

Soon Alice was smaller than ever. She was still shrinking and shrinking and she didn't know why.

一个夏天的午后，爱丽丝和姐姐正在一棵大树下乘凉。

One summer afternoon, Alice and her sister were enjoying the cool under a big tree。

突然，一只穿着礼服、拿着怀表的兔子从爱丽丝面前跑了过去。兔子一边跑，一边看着怀表说：“要迟到了，要迟到了！”

Suddenly, a rabbit in a dress and a pocket watch ran past Alice. As the rabbit ran, he looked at his pocket watch and said, "Late, late!"

爱丽丝感到很好奇，连忙起身去追那只奇怪的兔子。

Curious, Alice got up to chase the strange rabbit。

爱丽丝跟着兔子钻进了一个树洞里。在树洞里的一张桌子上，爱丽丝看到了一个瓶子。瓶子上贴着一张“喝我”的标签。

Alice followed the rabbit into a hole in the tree. On a table in the tree hole, Alice saw a bottle. There is a label "Drink Me" on the bottle。

于是，爱丽丝把瓶子里的东西喝了下去。令人惊讶的是，她开始越变越小。

So Alice drank down the bottle. Surprisingly, she began to get smaller and smaller。

变小的爱丽丝在桌底发现了一块蛋糕，她又吃了下去。

Then the strange rabbit appeared again. When he saw Alice, he threw down his fan and ran away。

爱丽丝捡起扇子扇了两下，没想到，她又开始变小，而且越变越小，最后居然掉进了眼泪池塘里。

Alice picked up the fan and fanned it twice. Unexpectedly, she began to get smaller and smaller again. Finally, she fell into the tear pond。

爱丽丝在池塘里遇到了许多小动物，他们一起游到了岸边。

Alice met many small animals in the pond. They swam to the shore together。

Alice ran to the rabbit's house and saw a bottle of water on the table. She drank the water curiously, but she didn't realize that her body began to grow bigger again, and eventually the house was so big that it burst。

“天哪！看你做的好事！”兔子气坏了，一边大叫，一边让动物们往爱丽丝身上丢石头。

"Good heavens! Look at what you've done!" The rabbit was so angry that he shouted and asked the animals to throw stones at Alice。

奇怪的是，石头砸到爱丽丝身上，竟然变成了蛋糕。

在森林里，爱丽丝遇到了一只毛毛虫。

In the forest, Alice met a caterpillar。

"Hello, Mr. Caterpillar! Do you know how I can get back to where I was? Alice asked。

“吃蘑菇的这边就变大，吃那边就变小。”毛毛虫说。

"This side of eating mushrooms gets bigger, and the other side gets smaller." The caterpillar said。

爱丽丝试着咬了好几口蘑菇，终于变回了原来的样子。

Alice tried to bite several mouthfuls of mushrooms and finally returned to her original appearance。

爱丽丝摘下那朵蘑菇继续走。突然，她发现了一扇小门。

Alice took off the mushroom and went on. Suddenly, she found a small door。

爱丽丝咬了一口蘑菇让自己变小，然后走了进去。

Alice took a bite of the mushroom to make herself smaller and went in。

这时，她看到里面有几张长着头和四肢的奇怪的扑克牌。他们正忙着把白玫瑰涂成红色。

Then she saw some strange cards with heads and limbs. They are busy painting white roses red。

“嗯？他们这是在干什么？”爱丽丝感到很惊讶。

"Well? What are they doing? Alice was surprised。

这时，红心王后来了。“怎么还有白色的玫瑰？”她大声吼道，“把他们的头全部给我砍掉！”

There are many poker soldiers in the garden. They use flamingos as bats, hedgehogs as balls, and they keep beating around. So this is croquet!

"Well, I'm not playing such a silly game!" Alice turned her head and said。

红心王后听了很生气，命令士兵把爱丽丝带上法庭。

The Queen of Hearts was very angry and ordered the soldiers to bring Alice to court。

“爱丽丝没有参加游戏，我宣判她有罪！”红心王后说。

"Alice didn't play the game. I convicted her!" Said the Queen of Hearts。

“拿刺猬当球，这太愚蠢了！”爱丽丝叫道。

"It's foolish to use hedgehogs as balls!" Cried Alice。

“砍掉她的头！”红心王后气坏了。

"Cut off her head!" The Queen of Hearts was angry。

这时，爱丽丝发现自己竟然开始变大，渐渐地恢复到了原来的大小。

At that moment, Alice found herself growing bigger and gradually returning to her original size。

突然，空中落下许许多多的纸牌。爱丽丝快被纸牌淹没了。她拼命地挥舞双手，大声叫道：“救命啊——”

Suddenly, a lot of cards fell in the air. Alice is drowning in cards. She waved her hands desperately and cried out, "Help——"

突然，一只手轻轻抚了抚爱丽丝的脸。爱丽丝睁开眼，发现是姐姐。她们还在那棵树下。

Suddenly, one hand caressed Alice's face gently. Alice opened her eyes and found it was her sister. They are still under that tree。

“我做了个梦。我想，我去了仙境！”爱丽丝说。

"I had a dream. I think I went to Wonderland!" Alice said。

这时，不远处的树洞里，一只奇怪的兔子笑了。他穿着礼服，戴着怀表……

At that moment, a strange rabbit laughed in a hole in the tree not far away. He was wearing a dress and pocket watch......
