其实在小学阶段，最适合读的英语读物，就莫过于英文版的格林童话，或者说是安徒生童话了。这些童话能引起小朋友的好奇心。

1.、《灯芯绒》

“Corduroy” is the story of a little bear who is for sale in a toy shop. He has lost one of his buttons, so no one wants to buy him.

This makes him very sad because he wants to be taken home by a child. Corduroy decides he needs to find a new button if someone is going to buy him.

《灯芯绒》是玩具店里一只待售小熊的故事。他失去了一粒纽扣，所以没人想买他。这让他很伤心，因为他想被一个小孩子带回家。灯芯绒想如果有人要买他的话，他需要找一颗新纽扣。

2、《野兽出没的地方》

“Where the Wild Things Are” is about a boy named Max who misbehaves in front of his parents. His mother sends him to his room without eating dinner.

While in his room, a forest magically grows and Max meets huge monsters called Wild Things. The Wild Things try to scare him, but Max tames the them with a magic trick.

3、《弗丁南德的故事》

Ever since he was a kid, Ferdinand, a bull (a male cow), loved to smell the flowers in the pasture (area of grass) where he lives. But the other bulls liked to play and butt heads.

When Ferdinand grows up, he becomes the biggest and the strongest of the bulls—but he still likes to sit and smell the flowers.

从他是个孩子开始，公牛弗丁南德就喜欢在生活的牧场上嗅花香。但是其他公牛喜欢玩，用头互顶。弗丁南德长大后，他变成公牛中最大最强壮的——但他依然喜欢坐下来闻花香。

4、《绿鸡蛋火腿》

In this book, a cat named Sam really likes green eggs and ham. So he offers it to a friend, but the friends does not want to eat green eggs and ham.

这本书中，一只名叫萨姆的猫很喜欢绿鸡蛋火腿。所以他把这些拿给朋友，但是朋友不想吃绿鸡蛋加火腿。

5、《戴帽子的猫》

Written by the same author as “Green Eggs and Ham,” this famous book begins with two siblings. They have to stay inside one day because it is cold and rainy outside.

They don’t know what to do to have fun, and their parents are not home.

和《绿鸡蛋火腿》的作者一样，这本著名的书以两兄弟开篇。有一天他们不得不待在屋里，因为外面下着雨，又很冷。他们不知道有什么好玩的事可做，而且父母不在家。
