酒店（又称为宾馆、旅馆、旅店、旅社、商旅、客店、客栈，台湾作饭店，港澳、马来西亚、新加坡等作酒店）其基本定义是提供安全、舒适，令利用者得到短期的休息或睡眠的空间的商业机构。一般地说来就是给宾客提供歇宿和饮食的场所。

具体地说饭店是以它的建筑物为凭证，通过出售客房、餐饮及综合服务设施向客人提供服务，从而获得经济收益的组织。酒店主要为游客提供住宿服务、亦生活的服务及设施（寝前服务）、餐饮、游戏、娱乐、购物、商务中心、宴会及会议等设施。

1、单人间：Single room

一间面积为16~20平方米的房间，内有卫生间和其他附属设备组成。房内设一张单人床。特别适合单人背包客，空间虽小但价位比一个人住双人房便宜。

2、双人间：Double room

房内设两张单人床或一张双人床的叫标准间，适合住两位客人和夫妻同住，适合旅游团体住用。

3、大床房：King size

房内只有一张床，但尺寸大到接近正方形，欧美的King size bed一般为KING SIZE：80X76(英寸)=203X193(厘米)。在美国比较常见。

4、三人间：Triple Room

房间一般有1张双人床和1张单人床，也经常被叫做家庭房。或者房间有三张单人床。这样的房型可入住3位房客，适合亲子。

5、套间：Suite

房间包括卧室和客厅，有时甚至会有厨房、会议室、另外 1-2 间卧室、浴室，像家一样，很适合一家人入住，也适合高级主管出差时，用来约见客人。

6、商务房：Business Room

房内设两张单人床或一张双人床，房内可以上网，满足商务客人的需求 。
