二、定义不同

1.meteoroid定义：在星际空间存在着大量的尘埃微粒和微小的固体块，它们也绕着太阳运动。在接近地球时由于地球引力的作用会使其轨道发生改变，这样就有可能穿过地球大气层。或者，当地球穿越它们的轨道时也有可能进入地球大气层。

2.meteor定义：微粒与地球相对运动速度很高（11－72公里/秒），与大气分子发生剧烈摩擦而燃烧发光，在夜间天空中表现为一条光迹，这种现象就叫流星，一般发生在距地面高度为80－120公里的高空中。

3.meteorite定义：陨石也称“陨星”，是地球以外脱离原有运行轨道的宇宙流星或尘碎块飞快散落到地球或其它行星表面的未燃尽的石质、铁质或是石铁混合的物质。

三、侧重点不同

1.meteoroid侧重点：指流星本身，不包含它进入地球大气时造成的现象。

2.meteor侧重点：一块从宇宙进入地球大气，燃烧并发出亮光的石头或金属。

3.meteorite侧重点：落到地面上，且没有蒸发殆尽的流星。

其实meteor是其他两个的总称，meteoroid 是没有着地就烧完的流星，meteorite是着地的陨石。这种词查不到你可以网上搜那种学科词典，有针对性。
