……从这一段时间所发生的故事来看，亨利对战争的态度已经发生了重大的改变，他变得不再相信战争，不再愿意参与到战争当中去。他到了米兰后，不看报纸，不关心战况，此时的亨利已经完全的要将自己置身于战争之外。只想和自己心爱的人在一起。冒着生命危险离开了米兰，到了瑞士，可以说这是新生活的开端。亨利和爱人卡萨玲过着简单快乐的乡村生活。此时的它们虽然离开了战乱，但是总给人一种活得不真实的感觉，总害怕这会是一场梦，生活还是让人担忧，总怕梦醒，总怕幸福不再有……结局还是令人叹息，卡萨玲最终离开亨利而去，这乱世里的爱情之花还是枯萎凋谢了，令人叹惋……从整个故事来看，海明威是写出了人们对于这场摧残爱情、摧残人性的的战争从投入到怀疑到厌恶继而到冷漠麻木的过程，反映了第一次世界大战后玩世不恭、信仰危机的“迷茫一代”的精神面貌。书中主人公亨利从尽义务到对战争的指责调侃，到处了意大利社会各阶层对战争的态度，而海明威就是要让人们“从这本书中了解人类在战争中的思想感情”。现在读来，这篇小说还是有着吸引人之处和可学习借鉴之处。海明威的语言确实有其可取之处，值得我们品味……
