dubstep和trap是两种音乐风格，分别阐述如下：
（1）Dubstep，电子乐的一种，源于伦敦。电音分支之一。Dubstep是电子乐的一种，1998年诞生于英国伦敦南部，受新千年早期的英伦车库乐影响，由AMMUNITION PROMOTIONS命名。
从音乐理论来说，Dubstep以其黑暗色调，稀疏的节奏，和低音上的强调著称，Dubstep一开始只在当地的一些小地方传播，直到后来的2005和06年早期，由于一些网站的传播作用，才使这种类型的音乐得以保留和发展。
（2）Trap是90年代早期在美国南部形成的一种嘻哈音乐，特点在沉重的808鼓，2倍、3倍加速或连续奏出的hi-hats（踩镲），以及用铜管乐器、木管乐器、键盘乐器创造出如电影插曲般的弦乐，营造出一个整体阴暗、诡异、冷酷、迷幻的氛围。

很多DUBSTEP作品结合了一个和很多个低音点，一种继承了DRUM ‘N BASS的特征，一般打击的部分会地停顿，通常使曲子减少到无声状态，然后再用带有统治性的次重音（常常使滑音跨过一个或更多八度，就像声音片段一样）
重绕（或重载）是DUBSTEP DJ运用另一种技术，如果一首曲子特别流行，DJ就会手动回放唱片而就不必抬唱针了，继续实验性的重播，在众多DUBSTEP先驱中运用重绕同样是做现场的重要元素，技术起源于DUB REGGAE SOUNDSYSTEM，同样被运用在了英伦车库乐和jungle nights。
