Guilt Right now, your guilt is heavy fruit,Growing on your branches, bearing them down.Your springy sapling strength is overcome. You cannot keep your longest limbsFrom bending with the weight. They will brush their leafy endsAgainst the the ground. But do not ask too soon to be relieved of guilt. If picked when green, this heavy fruitIs hard , sterile and sour.Let it grow til its season comes.Let it ripen, sweeten, soften. Then it will loosen its grip. And drop of itself to the waiting earth,Carrying seeds of a new resolve.

A Question Some people live in the country Where the houses are very small Some people live in the city Where the houses are very tall But in the country where the houses are small The gardens are very big And in the city where the houses are tall There are no gardens at all Where do you live? To see a world in a grain of sand, And a heaven in a wild fllower, Hold infinity in the palm of your hand, And eternity in an hour. Who Has Seen the Wind? Who has seen the wind? Neither I nor you. But when the leaves hang trembling, The wind is passing through. Who has seen the wind? Neither you nor I. But when the trees bow down their heads, The wind is passing by. This Home that You Have Built Is Made of Love This home that you have built is made of love, Hope and happiness, hard grit and tears, All the strength of will a heart can move, Now ready to enfold us many years. Know that we are grateful for the gift You've given us by working day and night. Over us though storms and trouble drift, Under this roof all is good and right. After You Leave, I Will Become a Tree After you leave, I will become a tree Alone on a hillside, loving wind and sun, Waiting for you to return home to me Though centuries of lonely stars may run. I'll grow tall and give lots of shade, Sheltering birds and other bright-eyed things. Pleased with all the progress that I've made, I'll spread my leafy branches out like wings. But oh! Every moment of every day I'll miss you with the passion of the wind, Gazing endlessly upon the way That without you must empty, empty wind.

A Slumber Did My Spirit Seal

A Slumber Did My Spirit Seal

William Wordsworth

A slumber did my spirit seal1;

I had no human fears:

She seemed a thing that could not feel

The touch of earthly years.

No motion has she now, no force;

She neither hears nor sees;

Rolled round in earth’s diurnal course

With rocks, and stones, and trees.

AMORETTI XXXIIII Edmund Spenser

MORETTI XXXIIII Edmund Spenser

LYKE as a ship, that through the Ocean wyde,

by conduct of some star doth make her way,

whenas a storme hath dimd her trusty guyde,

out of her course doth wander far astray.

So I whose star, that wont with her bright ray,

me to direct, with cloudes is ouer-cast,

doe wander now, in darknesse and dismay,

through hidden perils round about me plast.

Yet hope I well, that when this storme is past,

My Helice the lodestar of my lyfe

will shine again, and looke on me at last,

with louely light to cleare my cloudy grief.

Till then I wander carefull comfortlesse,

in secret sorrow and sad pensiuenesse.

它便迷徒之中四处飘荡;

我也会徘徊满心恐慌;

Pet Shopping

While shopping at the pet store

I got my fondest wish.

I bought myself a fish bowl

and then a pair of fish.

And since I was already

out shopping at the store

I thought I ought to purchase

another smidgen more.

And so I got a rabbit,

a hamster and a frog,

a gerbil and a turtle,

a parrot and a dog.

I purchased an iguana,

a tortoise and a rat,

an eight-foot anaconda,

a monkey and a cat.

A guinea pig, a gecko,

a ferret and a mouse,

and had them all delivered,

directly to my house.

My sister went berzerko!

She's now installing locks,

because I said her bedroom

would be their litter box!

The Seaside Is My Home

The Seaside Is My Home

I live near the sea for years.

The billow sound every night,

Enlightens me how to be great,

And how to look on greatness.

Without seeing great mountains,

I form no habit of looking up.

I live near the sea for years.

Too much water, saltier than tears,

Floats some directional boats,

Or other drifting boats

To travel far across the sea.

So the shore is always in my heart.

I live near the sea for years.

With more floaters on the sea,

The limpidity of sea vanishes.

Just like the dust of years,

Thicker and thicker on our body,

The beauty of bareness disappears!

I Think My Dad is Dracula

I think my dad is Dracula.

I know that sounds insane,

but listen for a moment and

allow me to explain.

We don't live in a castle,

and we never sleep in caves.

But, still, there's something weird

about the way my dad behaves.

I never see him go out

in the daytime when it's light.

He sleeps all day till evening,

then he leaves the house at night.

He comes home in the morning

saying, "Man, I'm really dead!"

He kisses us goodnight, and then

by sunrise he's in bed.

My mom heard my suspicion

and she said, "You're not too swift.

Your father's not a vampire.

He just works the graveyard shift."
