流行的事物、观念、行为方式等不一定是新出现的,有的可以是在以前就出现或已经流行过的,只是在新的一段时间又流行起来。流行涉及到社会生活各个领域,包括衣饰、音乐、美术、娱乐、建筑、语言等。
