St.=Saint圣。Valentine's Day 缩写为V-day白色情人节White Day是日本人发明的英语，只有日本韩国中国过这个节。没有啥缩写。也不是啥民间传说，不过是1978年日本糖果制造业为了让男人送礼物给女人，发明了这个节日，先是送白色软糖，后来是白巧克力。White Day was first celebrated in 1978 in Japan. It was started by the National Confectionery Industry Association (全国饴菓子工业协同组合) as an "answer day" to Valentine's Day on the grounds that men should pay back the women who gave them chocolate and other gifts on Valentine's Day. In 1977 a Fukuoka-shi confectionery company, Ishimura Manseido (石村万盛堂), had marketed marshmallows to men on March 14, calling it Marshmallow Day (マシュマロデー).[3]Soon thereafter, confectionery companies began marketing white chocolate. Now, men give both white and dark chocolate, as well as other edible and non-edible gifts, such as jewelry or objects of sentimental value, or white clothing like lingerie, to women from whom they received chocolate on Valentine's Day one month earlier. If the chocolate given to her was giri choco, the man as well may not be expressing actual romantic interest, but rather a social obligation.
