Value Your Time Sincc I entered college I have felt a great burden off my mind and I just want to relax. So do my classmates. We enjoy playing cards and are very skillful at it. We seldom work on our lessons unless there is an examination. Then we work under pressure. I know it is not good, but what I lack is self control. Mat of us know it is a problem, and it is time we did something about it. As youth, we are in the prime of our life. We should make good use of our golden time. The teachers take pains to teach us every day so that we can acquire more knowledge. We should not fail their expectations. I should not rest content with what I have done. Entering cnllege is just a step in the threshold of the palace of knowledge. The road is long. The modern age needs the well educated. The future world is highly competitive. If we idle away our time while young wo shall regret it in vain when we are did. From now on I will concentrate all my energy on my studies as to qualify myself as a talent in the 21st century. Time and tide wait for no man. I should value my time. What about you, my friend?

Cherish the TimeBY: Lauren - Woodridge, IllinoisFreshman year of high school I decided to attend a retreat through school called Snowball. It was a two-day retreat at a place called Camp Duncan, and there were about two hundred students and fifty faculty members that got involved. The purpose of Snowball is to allow students to express their feelings and problems. No one is ever judged, so students feel comfortable talking and sharing personal information. Many people have gone through such rough times in their life, and Snowball actually shows students that other people go through similar hardships and they are not alone in their problems.Going to Snowball made me realize how lucky I was to have not yet experienced something bad happen to a friend or family member. Snowball opened my eyes to things that I would have never even thought of happening to a loved one. I would hear stories about people losing a father to cancer or a best friend to a car accident. All of this really made me take a second look on life and recognize that I needed to appreciate the time I had with my loved ones because you never know what can happen. However, I wish I were able to realize all of this sooner because sophomore year of high school my grandpa was diagnosed with stage four Mantle Cell Lymphoma Cancer, which is a cancer of the lymph nodes. The cancer was terminal and a year later he passed away. It was extremely unfortunate and very hard on me. It was the first major death in my family, and it took awhile for me to accept it. Everything happened so fast, and I wasn’t able to spend as much time with him as I would have liked. Therefore, through all of this I have learned that to me the most important thing in life is to cherish the time that you have with your loved ones because you never know how much you will miss them until they are gone. Life goes by too fast, and you should take the time to be with your family and friends. Hearing what other people have gone through with the lost of a loved one at Snowball and then actually experiencing a death of a family member showed me that these things could happen to anyone. Even though I would have never expected my grandpa to get cancer, he still did. The moment I found out, I knew I had to treasure the time I had left with him. I encourage everyone to value the time they have with their loved ones because you never know how much time you will have with someone and the next day could be his or her last. This I believe.
