1、near翻译为“在附近”，实际距离不一定近。

2、beside和by翻译为“在…附近”，实际距离就比较近了，但是略微有个区别，beside尤其指“在…旁边”、“在…身边”，一种触手可及的`近。

3、at，表达有目的地“靠近”一个精确的地点。

I am sitting at the desk reading books.

5、around表示“在……周围，围绕”。
