Love's Philosophy 爱的哲学the fountains mingle with the river

and the rivers with the ocean,

the winds of heaven mix for ever

with a sweet emotion

一种甜蜜的感情;

nothing in the world is single,

all things by a law devine

in one another's being mingle --

why not i with thine?

see the mountains kiss high heaven

and the waves clasp one another

波浪也相互拥抱;

no sister-flower would be forgiven

if it disdain'd its brother

and the sunlight clasps the earth,

and the moonbeams kiss the sea -

what are all these kissings worth,

if thou kiss not me?

TO----by Shelley

One word is too often profaned

For me to profane it,

One feeling too falsely distain'd

For thee to distain it;

One hope is too like despair

For prudence to smother,

And pity from thee more dear

Than that from another.

I can not give what men call love:

But wilt thou accept not

The worship the heart lifts above

And the heavens reject not,

And the desire of the moth for the star,

Of the nigth for the morrow

The devotion to something afar

From the sphere of our sorrow.

有一种希望太似绝望;

To Mary

By Percy Bysshe Shelley

O Mary dear, that you were here

With your brown eyes bright and clear.

And your sweet voice, like a bird

Singing love to its lone mate

In the ivy bower disconsolate;

Voice the sweetest ever heard!

And your brow more...

Than the ... sky

Of this azure Italy.

Mary dear, come to me soon,

I am not well whilst thou art far;

As sunset to the sphered moon,

As twilight to the western star,

Thou, beloved, art to me.

O Mary dear, that you were here;

The Castle echo whispers 'Here!'

我失去了健康,当你远在他乡;

1、Oh! Weep for Those 哭吧

Oh! weep for those that wept by Babel's stream,

Whose shrines are desolate, whose land a dream:

圣地荒凉,故国也空余梦境;

Weep for the harp of Judah's broken shell;

哭吧,为了犹达断裂的琴弦;

Mourn—where their God hath dwelt the godless dwell!

And where shall Israel lave her bleeding feet?

And when shall Zion's songs again seem sweet?

And Judah's melody once more rejoice

The hearts that leap'd before its heavenly voice?

Tribes of the wandering foot and weary breast,

How shall ye flee away and be at rest!

The wild-dove hath her nest, the fox his cave,

Mankind their country—Israel but the grave!

2、Windsor Poetics

Famed for contemptuous breach of sacred ties,

By headless Charles see heartless Henry lies;

蔑视和背弃誓约使他出了名;

Between them stands another sceptred thing—

It moves, it reigns — in all but name, a king:

Charles to his people, Henry to his wife,

—In him the double tyrant starts to life:

他身上,一个双料暴君在崛起;

Justice and death have mix'd their dust in vain,

Each royal vampire wakes to life again.

Ah, what can tombs avail!— since these disgorge

The blood and dust of both — to mould a George.

3、Stanza, written at Bracknell

Thy dewy looks sink in my breast;

Thy gentle words stir poison there;

Thou hast disturbed the only rest

That was the portion of despair!

那曾经是绝望的一部分;

Subdued to Duty's hard control,

I could have borne my wayward lot:

The chains that bind this ruined soul

Had cankered then—but crushed it not.

4、Stanzas.—April, 1814

Away! the moor is dark beneath the moon,

Rapid clouds have drank the last pale beam of even:

疾驰的云朵已吞没尽落日的余晖;

Away! the gathering winds will call the darkness soon,

And profoundest midnight shroud the serene lights of heaven.

Pause not! The time is past! Every voice cries, Away!

Tempt not with one last tear thy friend's ungentle mood:

Thy lover's eye, so glazed and cold, dares not entreat thy stay:

Duty and dereliction guide thee back to solitude.

Away, away! to thy sad and silent home;

Pour bitter tears on its desolated hearth;

Watch the dim shades as like ghosts they go and come,

And complicate strange webs of melancholy mirth.

The leaves of wasted autumn woods shall float around thine head:

The blooms of dewy spring shall gleam beneath thy feet:

带露珠的春花将在你的脚下开放;

But thy soul or this world must fade in the frost that binds the dead,

Ere midnight's frown and morning's smile, ere thou and peace may meet.

The cloud shadows of midnight possess their own repose,

For the weary winds are silent, or the moon is in the deep:

Some respite to its turbulence unresting ocean knows;

不安的海也知道动荡之后的息歇;

Whatever moves, or toils, or grieves, hath its appointed sleep.

Thou in the grave shalt rest—yet till the phantoms flee

Which that house and heath and garden made dear to thee erewhile,

Thy remembrance, and repentance, and deep musings are not free

From the music of two voices and the light of one sweet smile.

From fairest creatures we desire increase,

That thereby beauty's rose might never die,

But as the riper should by time decease,

His tender heir might bear his memory;

But thou contracted to thine own bright eyes,

Feed'st thy light's flame with self-substantial fuel,

Making a famine where abundance lies,

Thyself thy foe, to thy sweet self too cruel.

Thou that art now the world's fresh ornament,

And only herald to the gaudy spring,

Within thine own bud buriest thy content,

And, tender churl, mak'st waste in niggarding.

Pity the world, or else this glutton be,

To eat the world's due, by the grave and thee.
