1.情人节

Valentine's Dayis a saints day commemorating Saint Valentine on February 14. It is the traditional day on which lovers express their love for each other.The holiday is named after two men, both Christian martyrs among the numerous Early Christian martyrs named Valentine. The day became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished.

2. 复活节

Easter, Pascha, or Resurrection Day,is an important religious feast in the Christian liturgical year. It celebrates the resurrection of Jesus, which Christians believe occurred on the third day after his crucifixion some time in the period AD 27 to 33.

3.感恩节

In the United States,Thanksgiving or Thanksgiving Dayis an annual one-day holiday to give thanks to God,for the things one has at the end of the harvest season. It is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November ( The period from Thanksgiving Day to New Year's Day is often collectively referred to as the "holiday season," and the holiday itself is often nicknamed Turkey Day. Thanksgiving is generally considered a secular holiday, and is not directly based in religious canon or dogma.

4.圣诞节

Christmas,also referred to as Christmas Day or Christmastide, is an annual holiday falling on December 25 or January 6,that honors and celebrates the birth of Jesus of Nazareth. His birth, which is the basis for the transcultural Western calendar, has been determined by modern historians as having occurred between 8–4 BC, and is traditionally told to have taken place in a stable within the city of Bethlehem.

5.万圣节

Halloween, or Hallowe'en,is a holiday celebrated on the night of October 31. Traditional activities include trick-or-treating, bonfires, costume parties, visiting "haunted houses" and carving jack-o-lanterns. The term Halloween (and its alternative rendering Hallowe'en) is shortened from All-hallow-even, as it is the eve of "All Hallows' Day",[1] which is now also known as All Saints' Day. Irish and Scottish immigrants carried versions of the tradition to North America in the nineteenth century. Other western countries embraced the holiday in the late twentieth century. Halloween is celebrated in several parts of the Western world, most commonly in Ireland, the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and the United Kingdom and occasionally in parts of Australia and New Zealand.

6.母亲节

Mother's Dayis a day honoring mothers, celebrated on various days in many places around the world. Mothers often receive gifts on this day.

7.父亲节

Father's Dayis a secular celebration inaugurated in the early twentieth century to complement Mother's Day in celebrating fatherhood and parenting by males, and to honor and commemorate fathers and forefathers. Father's Day is celebrated on a variety of dates worldwide and typically involves gift-giving to fathers and family-oriented activities.

8.愚人节

April Fools' Day or All Fools' Day,though not a holiday in its own right, is a notable day celebrated in many countries on April 1. The day is marked by the commission of hoaxes and other practical jokes of varying sophistication on friends, enemies and neighbors, or sending them on fools' errands, the aim of which is to embarrass the gullible. In some countries, April Fools' jokes (also called "April Fools") are only made before noon on 1 April.

3、华盛顿诞辰  (George Washingtons Birthday),每年2月22日,庆祝华盛顿诞辰,为美国的联邦假日。

4、复活节(Easter Day, Easter Sunday),一般在每年春分后月圆第一个星期天, 约在3月7日左右。 该节是庆祝基督   ( Jesus Christ)的复活,过节人们吃复活节彩蛋( Easter Eggs),为美国的联邦假日。

5、愚人节(April Fools Day), 每年4月1日, 该节出自于庆祝 "春分点" (Venal equinox)的来临, 在  4月1日受到恶作剧愚弄的人称为"四月愚人" (April Fools)。

6、母亲节(Mothers  Day), 每年5月份的'第2 个星期日,政府部门和各家门口悬挂国旗,  表示对母亲的尊敬。在家里,儿女们和父亲给母亲买些礼物或做些家务。

7、父亲节(Fathers Day), 每年6月份的第3 个星期天,表示对父亲的尊敬。 在家里,儿女们和母 亲给父亲买些礼物。

8、国庆节(Independence Day), 每年7月4日,庆祝美国建国,为美国的联邦假日。

9、万圣节  (Halloween;Eve of All Saints Day), 每年10月31日,孩子们多化装成鬼,  打着灯笼或点燃篝火尽情地玩耍。

10、感恩节 (Thanks giving Day),每年11月最后一个星期四,干且上帝所赐予的秋收,为美国的联邦假日。

Independence Day 美国国庆节独立日(Independence Day,又称Fourth of July或July Fourth)是美国的主要法定节日之一,日期为每年7月4日,以纪念1776年7月4日大陆会议在费城正式通过《独立宣言》。《独立宣言》由托马斯·杰佛逊起草,1776年7月4日经大陆会议专门委员会修改后通过,并由大陆会议主席约翰·汉考克签字生效。《独立宣言》开宗明义地阐明,一切人生而平等,具有追求幸福与自由的天赋权利。淋漓尽致地历数了英国殖民主义者在美洲大陆犯下的罪行;最后庄严宣告美利坚合众国脱离英国而独立。《独立宣言》是具有世界历史意义的伟大文献。通过《独立宣言》的这一天也成为美国人民永远纪念的节日,定为美国独立日。
