1、consult的基本意思是为了作出一项决定、取得一项解决办法而进行对话或讨论。可以是单向的，即“请教”“咨询”; 也可以是双向的,即“商议”“商量”。无论是“咨询”还是“商量”,双方地位都是平等的。引申可以表示向书本咨询,即“翻阅”“查考”资料，也可以表示向自己咨询,即“考虑”“顾及”。

2、consult可用作不及物动词，也可用作及物动词。

3、consult极少用于被动结构。

attachment的用法：

1、addition，appendix，attachment，supplement，accessory这些名词均含“附加物、增加物”之意。

addition仅强调数量的增加。appendix指书末的附录。attachment指用于扩大原物用途的附件。supplement主要指使书、报等正文更完善而额外增加的部分。accessory作“附件”解时，与attachment同义，可互换，但还指增加美观的附属品。

2、affection，love，attachment这些名词均含“爱、热爱”之意。

affection指对人的爱慕或深厚、温柔的感情，侧重感情的深沉。love比affection的语气更强。表示一种难以控制的激情。attachment通常用于书面文字中，既可指对某人某物的喜欢，又可指出自理智对某人或某物的热爱，尤指长时间的爱。
