Distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, today we are gathering here for the grand opening of openings ceremony of Fourth China’s English Teaching Seminars. On behalf of the Ministry of Education, I would like to extend my congratulations to the seminars and warm welcome to the experts and scholars. And I will take this opportunity to express my sincere solicitude and highest respect for all teachers and researchers.Thanks to the joint efforts by all the parties concerned,China’s English teaching has achieved great progress. Considering to the needs of social and economic development, we still have to summarize English teaching experience in time and explore new directions and thought of China’s English education revolution.I hope that we can strengthen English teaching academic exchange and sum up experiences and deficiencies on the English teaching, especially to solve problems such as dumb English. We should import, digest and absorb the international latest teaching theories and methods, and adapt to the needs of Chinese English teaching. I believe that this seminar will enhance friendship and cooperation between all countries’ colleagues, improve the English teaching research and the applications, and promote the development of China and all countries’ English Teaching research.China English Language Education Association and Beijing Foreign Studies University have strong strength in English teaching and research. They have made great contributions to China’ English teaching, research and personnel training for a long time. And they made great endeavor for this seminar.
