杀虫剂是用于消灭昆虫的药物;泛指消灭或逐避昆虫的药物，是农药类型之一。按照其杀虫机能分：胃毒剂又称消化中毒剂StomachPoison和触杀剂ContactPoison。胃毒剂：植物的茎叶等，撒布此类药剂后，经害虫取食，可由其消化器官吸收毒分而致中毒死亡者属之，如砷酸铅、砷酸钙、巴拉松等。触杀剂：将此类药剂撒布后，使与害虫虫体接触，迳由其皮肤渗透，吸收毒分中毒致死者属之。
