语言学习的终极目标，不是考试，也不是“大家都羡慕我英语好”的膨胀感觉，更多的是在应用过程中，去获得语言背后的强大文化带给人的更宽视野，不同的思考维度。 我们的阅读能力达到巅峰的时候应该就是初高中时代啦。往小了说，可以把文章拆筋剥骨，分析句式，修辞手法，用得妙的词汇，往大了说，可以把某些文章整篇顺背如流，数年不忘。我现在只要一想到岳阳楼记，后面正文部分分跟着就能从脑中流出“庆历四年春，滕子京谪守巴陵郡。越明年，政通人和……” 但是到大学，再到毕业，阅读越来越浮躁了。看书看得很浅，即使是觉得再精彩的书。也绝不会去翻第二遍。脑子里有一个话外音“综艺，美剧，抖音，电影，它们不香吗？为啥还要那么费脑子去看书？”又或者：“要慢慢看干啥？得快些，一直往前，就是要求速度啊……”其它唾手可得的媒体形式还有内心的浮躁在不断入侵日常生活。 但是，看英文原著的时候，我这种浮躁的态度，竟然，得到了小小的整治。我第一本正式开始看的英文书，the call of the wild(野性的呼唤) 即使对于英语老师来说，读全英文需要动用所有脑力，去把单词翻译成中文意思，再连词成句，整合出这句话的意思，稍走神，可能就不知所云。这跟读中文就完全不同，我们对中文太熟悉了，甚至在一行字被遮住下半部分的情况下，我们也能很快认出来。如果换作英文，不好意思，我们是达不到这个语言熟悉度。 我依然记得我读野性的呼唤的某些时候，我看到那些形容词，名词，我脑中会有一个塑造它们的过程。wintry night这个词，脑海里英译中的时间足够让我充分构造风雪交加的晚上的景象。 roaring fire，壁炉里咆哮的火焰这个场景也清晰起来。 这样的阅读体验感，真像是在脑子里打造一部电影一样。这跟我的选材也是有关系的，我选的是自己会很感兴趣的小说类，所以看下去，了解故事发展得欲望很强。 当初开始看英文小说，是我跟自己说，学英语的终极目标就是应用啊，开始读英文书籍吧。真正开始之后，我的收获不仅是书籍本身的内容，还有对深入阅读的快乐的体验。 meaningful things always deserve our time and devotion.
