有限责任公司，又称有限公司。有限责任公司指根据《中华人民共和国公司登记管理条例》规定登记注册，由两个以上、五十个以下的股东共同出资，每个股东以其所认缴的出资额对公司承担有限责任，公司以其全部资产对其债务承担责任的经济组织。有限责任公司包括国有独资公司以及其他有限责任公司。
根据英文的省略语法，有限公司的写法可有如下几种。
1. XXX Company Limited 未缩略的格式。
2. XXX Co., Ltd. 最常用的缩写。
3. XXX CO., LTD 大写字母缩写时的写法。
4.XXX CO Ltd. 第4项为特别情况的写法。

为了保护注册人的利益，防止有人恶意注册。要注册英文名，只有以下几个方法：
用中文名的拼音作为公司英文名；
英文名可以用一个英文单词，但是公司的中文名必须是这个英文单词的意译。比如公司英文名叫HANGZHOU SMART…, 那公司的中文名叫要翻译成杭州聪明…公司；
如果要用读音相近，意思相近的中英文对照的名字，必须去注册英文的商标。后来我又打了电话给注册商标的代理，说最少要1年时间才能注册商标成功，也不现实。
