较正式的说法：Taiwan reverted to Chinese sovereignty(主权)其他说法：Taiwan returns to China(motherland).Taiwan comes home.Taiwan reverts to the motherland.Taiwan is reunited with China.注：regress 这字眼有"倒退走"的意思，虽然也可翻作"回归"，但在这里不那麼恰当(那样的话，意思好像说台湾回归后就衰败了，有双关话，所以不太恰当)。以上是在香港回归时，新闻上有用过的字眼。当然，以上用的都是现在式做范例，如果已经回归了，用简单过去式来叙述，后面加上时间也可以。
