嫦娥奔月：中国上古时代神话传说故事，讲述了嫦娥被逄蒙所逼，无奈之下，吃下了西王母赐给丈夫后羿的一粒不死之药后，飞到了月宫的事情。

玉兔捣药是中国神话传说故事之一。见于汉乐府《董逃行》。相传月亮之中有一只兔子，浑身洁白如玉，所以称作"玉兔"。这种白兔拿着玉杵，跪地捣药，成蛤蟆丸，服用此等药丸可以长生成仙。久而久之，玉兔便成为月亮的代名词。
后世评价
嫦娥奔月的故事以鲜明的态度和绚丽的色彩歌颂、赞美了嫦娥，与古文献有关嫦娥的记载相比较，可见人们对嫦娥奔月的故事做了很多加工、修饰，使娥娥的形象与月同美，使之符合人们对美的追求。
与现代流传甚广的“嫦娥奔月”相左，汉代传说嫦娥变成癞蛤蟆后，在月宫中终日被罚捣不死药，过着寂寞清苦的生活。
嫦娥的故事还在续写。不过，人们对嫦娥的同情也是永恒的：李白曾有诗感叹嫦娥：“白兔捣药秋复春，嫦娥孤栖与谁邻？”李商隐也曾感慨道：“嫦娥应悔偷灵药，碧海青天夜夜心。”
更多的人还把嫦娥当作了可以聊天的朋友。天上的嫦娥给我们带来了许多欢乐，而中华民族在嫦娥形象上寄予的厚望，也不会少，探月工程以“嫦娥”命名，说明了这一点。
