Affirmative action is a policy which assists the ethnic minority to enter university. It is not only implemented in China but also put into use in U.S.A and many other countries in the world. Educators think it will improve diversity in universities by collaborative innovation and development.(这句的原话我不是太懂,改完也不是很make sense to me) Other people(我觉得这里用普通人,有点没礼貌,难道教育者高于普通人之上?) hope it will help proletariat move to middle class by finding a good job after graduation, hence narrow the wealth gap and maintaining social stability.(和谐—一个让我有很不好联想的词...擅自改掉了这一段:P)Although the prospects of this policy looks very promising, and it seems many people will benefit from it, the reality is the policy has failed in many ways. As those who are qualified has already enter the university without this strategy, (这个观点不是很有说服力啊,前人种树后人乘凉,没赶上好政策跟政策本身一点关系都没有啊,一个政策哪能把上下5000年都照顾到)and we can also ignore(ignore 很消极啊, 演讲要有力度就得抨击社会时弊,还是怕被“和谐”?) the phenomenon that a few officials use this strategy to let their children to enter the college, (college 和 university 严格的说还是有区别的 uni更大一点科目更多更全面,一般是国立,college可以是私立,相对小一点,我习惯用universityvirtually 让我联想到virtual 我也不习惯这样用国外的硕士入学方式分为两种其中的一种为coursework,为普通形式的硕士入学方式,需要学生提交寻常申请用的资料而与之相对的是searchcourse,是研究型的硕士入学方式,需要你目前从事的研究与你所申请的学校所进行的研究符合,才可以很方便的入学并取得研究资金支持 你是在讲上大学本科的条件吧?)Freshmen must be “college ready” at virtually all four-year colleges. Additionally, Economists Stacy Dale and Alan Krueger found that the price of name-brand colleges go up and up, but elite colleges offer no financial benefit that less selective schools do not. So let’s reconsider the affirmative action, it didn’t improve culture diversity, didn’t give anything to those in need, and it has become another tool for the privileged. Even though we can’t totally reject it, denied all the benefits, we should definitely make some large-scale changes.

一、 Greetings 问候

我们中国人见面打招呼时习惯说:您吃过了吗?(Have you eaten? / Have you had your meal?)或者说:您上哪去?(Where are you going? )。而英美人见面时如果是上午则说:Good morning. 如果是在下午则说:Good afternoon, 在傍晚就说:Good evening. 如果与熟人打招呼则说:How are you? 如果是与较熟的人或朋友打招呼则说:Hello, 或Hi. 如果用我们中国人见面打招呼时常说的"Have you eaten?"去问候英美人,就会引起对方的误解,因为"Have you eaten?"在英语里不是打招呼用语,而是"邀请对方去吃饭"。如果见到英美人时说:"Where are you going?"他们会很不高兴。因为"Where are you going?"对英美人来说则是"即干涉别人的私事。" A:二、 Parting 告辞
