《London bridge is falling down》伦敦桥要倒了 ，是一首非常知名的传统童谣，来自"鹅妈妈童谣"。它们绝对不像大家对童谣的印象大多是充满童趣与温馨的。这些古老且残酷的童谣可以追溯到当时的时代背景及社会人文风貌，藉由童谣的黑暗面，能让近代的人们更了解历史。

“伦敦桥要倒塌，要倒塌，要倒塌……”一首充满悲剧色彩的民谣唱说着伦敦桥的沧桑历史。就像这首童谣中唱的那样，历史上的伦敦桥不仅倒塌过，而且倒塌过多次。像伦敦桥这样屡经兴废而依然名声不倒的桥梁实属罕见。

伦敦桥是泰晤士河上资格最老的桥，公元965年建成。第一条伦敦桥是木质构造，两千年前（50AD)的罗马时期就有了。不过这条桥很短命，五年后就毁于战乱。第二条桥是砖建的，1014年被侵略英国的维京王Olaf拆毁。目的是将英国一分为二，阻断两地的交通。
