notice的基本意思是“布告，通告，启示”,指用以宣传某事的发生或传达某种指示的通知。也可指“预告，通知”，即告诉某人某事即将发生。notice还可指提醒某人对某事引起“注意”。引申可指“评价，短评”。
notice后也可接that引起的从句作同位语、现在分词或动词不定式作其后置定语。
give notice或have notice一般指离职或迁让的通知：当后面跟不定式，notice前面可加冠词a。give notice后面也可跟that从句。
