With the advent of the twenty-first century, we have entered an era of knowledge-based economy. In this background, it is no exception that knowledge and skills of the staff is continually increasing demands from booming hotel industry. For the hotel industry, knowledge workers are the most creative and productive groups , but also the loss of them is the most vulnerable .They are most difficult to manage too. Low level of pay; pressure and intensity of work; difficult promotion; low social status of the hotel industry are difficult to attract and retain knowledge-based employees. The staff with low level of knowledge will inevitably lead to a series of issues such as: the management of the hotel industry and the quality of services decline ; the increase in fiscal expenditure; hotel industry disorder. These are major problems to health and long-term development of the hotel industry. In light of these problems I think we should establish a good salaries system; provide good development opportunities to knowledge-based staff; enrich the content of their work, reduce the pressure of the knowledge-based employees; should also appeal to the common efforts of the whole society to improve social status of the hotel employees and all service-oriented staff employees.
