英语微课 不可数名词

vary和change常常被我们用来在英语交流中表述"改变"，两词在含义侧重点和用法上存在着区别，具体如下：

vary 英 [ˈveəri]   美 [ˈveri]  v. 变化;(大小、形状等)相异;不同;有别;(根据情况)改变;变更

change 英 [tʃeɪndʒ]  美 [tʃeɪndʒ]  v. 改变;变化;使不同 n. 改变;变更

相同点：两词都可以表示"改变"。

不同点：vary 指“不规则或连续地改变”；change 指“使改变得与原物完全不同”或“使发生以新代旧的变化”。

二：用法区分

vary可用作及物动词,也可用作不及物动词。用作及物动词时,接名词或代词作宾语。

change可用作不及物动词,也可用作及物动词。用作及物动词时,接名词或代词作宾语,可用于被动结构; 用作不及物动词时,可表示“改变; 换衣; 换车”。change作“改变,变化”解时是可数名词。

二、既可数，又不可数的名词

1、paper：[C]报纸，论文；[U]纸张

2、room：[C]房间；[U]空间

4、hair：[C](几根)头发；[U]整头头发，发型

5、time：[C]次数；[u]时间

6、experience：[C]经历；[U]经验

可数名词

1、单数可数名词做主语，谓语动词用单数。

复数可数名词做主语，谓语动词用复数。

注：单数可数名词不可单独使用，需在前面加a，an，the，my等。

2、单数变复数原则

(1)一般直接加-s

例：books，caps

(2)以-s，-x，-ch，-sh结尾的名词，在词尾加-es

例：glasses，boxes，watches，brushes

(3)以辅音字母加-y结尾，把-y变-ies

例：stories，countries

(4)以字母-o结尾时，一般加-s

例：piano→pianos钢琴

photo→photos相片

bamboo→bamboos竹子

radio→radios收音机

studio→studios工作室

cuckoo→cuckoos杜鹃

注意：下面几个特殊词后加-es

例：tomato→tomatoes西红柿

hero→heroes英雄

potato→potatoes土豆

Negro→Negroes黑人

(5)以-f，-fe结尾时，先把-f，-fe变为v，再加-es

例：leaf→leaves树叶

life→lives生命

knife→knives刀

shelf→shelves架子

half→halves半

thief→thieves贼

注意：个别只加-s。

例：roof→roofs屋顶

gulf→gulfs海湾

proof→proofs证据

belief→beliefs信念

chief→chiefs酋长

handkerchief→handkerchiefs手帕

(6)复合名词的复数形式多在主体名词上变化

例：shopkeeper→shopkeepers店主

classroom→classrooms教室

son-in-law→sons-in-law女婿

looker-on→lookers-on旁观者

passer-by→passers-by过客

editor-in-chief→editors-in-chief总编

(7)不规则变化：有些名词以改变元音的方法变为复数，有些辅音也有变化。

例：man→men男人

woman→women女人

foot→feet脚

tooth→teeth牙

mouse→mice鼠

goose→geese鹅

ox→oxen公牛

child→children儿童

phenomenon→phenomena现象

crisis→crises危机

(8)单数和复数为同一形式

deer，fish，sheep，means，Japanese，Swiss，Chinese，aircraft，works(工厂)，crossroads(十字路)，series(系列)，species(种类)等名词单复数同形。

例：sheep→two sheep绵羊

fish→two fish鱼

Chinese→two Chinese中国人

Japanese→two Japanese日本人

Swiss→two Swiss瑞士人
